What Is Repowering?

Repowering means replacing your old outboard motor with a new, more powerful, more efficient one — without buying a whole new boat.
It’s the smartest investment you can make in your vessel:
  • Better fuel efficiency
  • Quieter operation
  • More horsepower for the same weight
  • Modern EFI technology
  • Full factory warranty
  • Increased resale value

FAQ — Repower Financing

How do I know if my boat is worth repowering? Generally, if your hull is in good condition and you love the layout, repowering makes sense. We evaluate transom integrity, stringer condition, and overall hull value during your free consultation.
Can I finance the installation labor too? Yes. Our repower loans cover the motor, all installation labor, rigging, controls, gauges, and even new batteries or fuel lines if needed.
What happens to my old motor? Three options: (1) We apply trade-in value as your down payment, (2) We broker it for you, or (3) You keep it. Most customers choose option 1.
How long does a repower take? Simple repowers (same brand, similar HP): 3–5 days. Complex repowers (different brand, digital rigging upgrade): 7–10 days. We’ll give you a firm timeline before starting.
Will a repower void my boat’s warranty? No. Your hull warranty (if any) remains intact. Your new outboard carries its own factory warranty.
Can I repower with a different brand? Absolutely. We repower with Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, and Honda — regardless of what brand is currently on your transom.
Do you offer commercial repower financing? Yes. Charter boats, fishing guides, and tour operators qualify for seasonal payment plans and accelerated depreciation options.
What’s the minimum credit score for repower financing? We work with scores as low as 600 for repower projects. Higher scores unlock better rates. Co-signers welcome.
