Description
The F70LA is built around Yamaha’s 996cc single-overhead-camshaft four-cylinder powerhead — a 1.0-litre, 16-valve design that provides exceptional breathing and efficiency. This is the same basic engine platform as Yamaha’s popular 50 and 60 HP models, but with increased output .
The Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection system delivers the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency, with Yamaha’s EFI optimizing fuel atomization for enhanced fuel economy. The TCI microcomputer ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimal engine performance, economy, and power under all operating conditions.
The composite intake manifold features long tube intake tracks, tuned to increase airflow, which boosts low-end and midrange torque. The air silencer box and surge tank reduce air intake noise and air turbulence for smooth, quiet operation.
